Waterproofing questions
Do I really need waterproofing, or is dampproofing enough?
On sandy, well-drained sites with good grade, dampproofing can be adequate. On clay soil, flat lots, or anywhere near irrigation or runoff paths, true waterproofing membrane is cheap insurance against a wet basement you can't easily fix after backfill.
Can you waterproof an existing basement from outside?
Yes — we excavate access, prep the wall, and apply membrane and drainage board. It's more involved than new construction but permanently fixes chronic leaks at the source.
What is crawl space encapsulation?
A sealed heavy-duty liner across the floor and walls, sealed vents, and usually closed-cell spray foam on the rim — turning a damp, moldy crawl into clean, dry storage that also warms your floors.
